Emeril Lagasse Discusses Bringing His “Bam” To Bravissimo in Healdsburg in May

James Beard Award winner chef Emeril Lagasse is coming to Sonoma Wine Country May 17 and 18, and no one could be more excited about it than the management of The Healdsburg School (THS).

That’s because Lagasse is cooking a special Southern-style meal as a fundraiser for the private, independently-run K-8 school in northern Sonoma County, and then, the following evening, is helping host the Bravissimo dinner, dance and auction as another THS fundraiser at the Kendall Jackson Wine Center in Santa Rosa.

As is often the case with such celebrity appearances, guests will pay to play. The headliner dinner is a private affair for 24 guests willing and able to cough up $5,000 per person.

What the menu is, no one knows yet, but the meal will be paired with Kosta Browne wines and served at the Kosta family’s home, with Sonoma County chef Mark Stark assisting in the kitchen (Stark owns Stark Steak & Seafood, Willi’s Wine Bar, Bravas Bar de Tapas, Willi’s Seafood & Raw Bar, and Monti’s Rotisserie & Bar).

The Bravissimo gala is a bit more approachable, at $150 per person, and Lagasse and his wife Alden will also attend, so there’s good opportunity for rubber-necking at the chef, restaurateur, TV personality and author who had the whole world yelling “Bam!” for much too long after debuting The Essence of Emeril on the Food Network in 1994.

Guests wanting to sit at the Bravissimo Chef’s Table with the Big Guy himself, however, will need bigger wallets: tickets for that honor are $1,000 per person. [More…]
