DAVID ZHEUTLIN, Middle School Social Studies Teacher, lives in Brooklyn, NY, and directs the educational programs at Brooklyn Youth Sports Club. He also leads their partnership program, most recently collaborating with the Municipal Art Society to create and teach a neighborhood-exploration curriculum (the question: “What should a neighborhood be?”). For seven years, he taught eighth-grade history at Trevor Day School, where he developed an inquiry-based medieval history curriculum, coached three seasons of sports, and served as grade-level dean. Nowadays, you may also find him teaching hot sauce classes on Zoom, riding his bicycle everywhere (snow or shine), taking plenty of notes about the city’s oddities, and longing to get back on the basketball court.
