JIMMY KELLY
JIMMY KELLY
Jimmy has spent the past 10 years teaching humanities at the middle and high school level, with the vast majority of that time spent at Pacific Collegiate School in Santa Cruz, California. He holds a BA in History from UC Santa Barbara, an M.Ed in Secondary Education from Loyola Marymount University, and an MA in Modern Irish History from University College Dublin. Jimmy’s main goal for his students is to demystify the writing process, to get students to understand that writing, and learning in general, is a practice that needs to be honed on a daily basis. He will also serve as an 8th Grade advisor.
Away from THS, Jimmy enjoys exploring local wildlife with his wife and toddler son (who knew it could be so exciting to find a bug!), learning about zymurgy of various sorts, and reading a wide array of books ranging from political philosophy to young adult fiction. Importantly, despite his noticeable lack of talent, Jimmy has not given up hope of one day becoming a professional golfer.
