MELISSA WALKER
MELISSA WALKER
MELISSA WALKER is excited to be at The Healdsburg School as the Fourth Grade Teacher. Melissa attended the University of Puget Sound in Washington state, where she pursued a degree in psychology, focusing on disorders and child development. During her time in the northwest, she was able to discover her love for the outdoors, spending her free time hiking, camping, and exploring. Upon graduating, Melissa began working more directly with children and took a position as a psychiatric child counselor at an inpatient facility in Washington. It was here that she found her passion working within the classroom and decided to pursue a teaching career– Melissa returned to California and attended Sonoma State University, where she received a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. A Healdsburg native, Melissa, is thrilled to return to her hometown and incite the same “spark” in her students that she feels through learning.
