MYRA LESLIE
MYRA LESLIE
From the moment MYRA LESLIE walked on to the campus at THS, she was electrified by the staff and students alike. Myra has over fifteen years of teaching experience at the high school and college level. After graduating from Cal Poly, Myra spent seven years teaching the sciences, from Biology to Biotechnology, at a high school in San Jose. It was there that she helped to develop the biotechnology program and implemented performance-based assessments. Myra has also worked for two years at Windsor High teaching Integrated Science in a ninth and tenth-grade core program. After taking time off from the teaching profession to raise her two sons, Myra remained actively involved in education by volunteering extensively at her sons’ elementary school. Myra helped to develop a school-wide garden, provided additional math support, coached a Science Olympiad team of fourth to sixth graders, and led her Odyssey of the Mind team to two first-place finishes. It was through this volunteering that Myra found her passion for working with elementary school-aged students. Myra is excited to be the Eighth Grade Homeroom Teacher as well as to be teaching sixth and eighth-grade science, eighth-grade math, and seventh-grade entrepreneurship. She also enjoys coaching the THS volleyball team. She brings with her the ability to combine rigorous direct instruction with an interactive and innovative methodology.
