The Healdsburg School’s MIddle-School students are taking part in a weekly Quarantine Journal Project, launched nationally by the Nueva School, in a Middle-School-teacher collaboration. Students can choose a prompt that is related to their situation, from “Food” to “How I’m Reaching Out to Others.” They are writing reflections, creating art in their choice of available mediums, from Pixlr to pencil, and writing about the art that they create; both on the final piece, and on the process. Students have reported that this creative project has helped them to identify and process their emotions, and has served as an interesting platform for honing their art and writing skills. Students are free to share on the Nueva School Instagram @quarantinejournalproject, and/or to their teachers.
