EVAN WELTY
Evan Welty is a California native and mother of three sons attending The Healdsburg School. Evan earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University. She was particularly focused on human and international development and places where policy can intersect with human values. She chaired the Forum on Faith and Policy at Georgetown and worked on issues affecting women and children in the First Lady’s Office of California.
In 2009, Evan and her husband, Matt, returned from Washington, DC, to his hometown, Healdsburg, to start their family. During the “motherhood years,” Evan has published a children’s book, Twins and Other Twosomes (Best First Book, Moonbeam Awards 2014); taught a drama elective in the Santa Rosa City Schools; researched classical education for a non-profit, and homeschooled her children during the pandemic.
Evan loves camping and visiting National Parks with her family, dancing, listening to live music, teaching Sunday School, and practicing rusty Spanish from backpacking in South America long ago.
