ALEXANDRA HOLLOWAY, Director of Middle School Student Learning and Culture, was born and raised in the Bay Area. She traveled to Spokane, Washington to attend Gonzaga University where she majored in Political Science and History. Alex got into teaching through the Teach for America program which placed her in an inner-city school in need. Alex taught 6th grade English and History for 5 years in Oakland before moving up to Sonoma County. She believes that students should be exposed to a culturally relevant and social justice-minded curriculum that improves students’ understanding of themselves and others. In her free time, Alex enjoys going out on the Russian River on her paddleboard, reading, traveling, swimming, and playing with her many pets.
