CHARLOTTE PERRINE, Middle School Math Teacher is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. Charlotte comes from a long line of educators, and has spent the past 32 years teaching math and science from grades 5-7 in the Potomac School, Mc Lean, VA., St. Stephens and St. Agnes School, Alexandria, VA, The Beaver Country Day School in Boston and The Healdsburg School. She has been at THS since it opened as a K-8 school in 2008. Charlotte is a graduate of Westover School in Middlebury, CT, Smith College in Northampton, MA, where she received her BA, and Harvard University, where she received her MEd. Charlotte is a huge Red Sox fan, an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and running, a lover of Broadway musicals and landscape photography, and is passionate about children and teaching. She is a believer in bringing the real world into the learning experience. Walking the talk, she has helped create a whale curriculum for Montgomery County Schools, studied humpback whales with the Pacific Whale Foundation in Australia, received a summer grant to research and observe orcas with Earthwatch in San Juan Islands, traveled to New Zealand, Europe, Australia, Peru, Alaska, the U.S. and sailed for a month in Tahiti. Ms. Perrine has been a key person in organizing and running a math enrichment and support program and has been instrumental in creating math curricula.
