KARLA BECERRA, Middle School | Social Studies Teacher, was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. She moved to California in 2018 settling in San Francisco where she taught Social Science (World History, Ethnic Studies, and American History) at the middle and high school level for two years. Karla received her BA in Middle Childhood Education at Concordia College- NY and her MA in Secondary Education at New York University. Karla believes that every child should receive an education that is culturally responsive and that fosters social emotional growth. She is a strong advocate for mental health and incorporates mindfulness practices into her daily lessons. In her free time, she enjoys being with family, exercising, and exploring new places in Sonoma County.
