Martha was born and raised in Tijuana, México where she attended the Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana, graduating with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. In México, she taught ninth and tenth-grade math for four years. After working in Manufacturing and Corporate Finance in México and Los Angeles, she traveled with her family to Asia and Australia before landing in Healdsburg and joining THS, first as a parent, and now as part of the Faculty. Martha strives to create an authentic learning environment for her students. She loves to incorporate music, dance, and food, and enjoys sharing her traditions with the class.
Outside of school, you can find Ms. Z dancing with the Ballet Folklórico Yolotl of Healdsburg, spending time with family and friends (and dog), or enjoying a bite at any of her favorite restaurants.
