RON CHARLESWORTH
RON CHARLESWORTH, Middle School Band Teacher, is a seasoned musician with experience in several areas of the music industry. His versatility has allowed him to play the role of performer, songwriter, album producer, studio engineer, educator and tour technician. Ron (Mr. C) has a Degree in Music Performance from the University of Colorado where he graduated with honors.
Teaching others how to enjoy and perform music is the calling that keeps his music passion alive. He opened Speed of Sound Music in Healdsburg in 2012. Speed of Sound is the culmination of the various opportunities he has had in the music business brought to a brick and mortar location where he can share his knowledge of performing music. Music Education is paramount to all he does at Speed of Sound; teaching music students to interact collectively as an ensemble while also mastering their own instrument is the main focus at the music school.
Ron also loves to perform and record music. He started performing his first shows in public at age 12. Early in his career as a drummer, he performed with RCA Records recording artist Ty England whose first single “Should’ve Asked Her Faster” reached #2 on Billboards country charts. In addition to the hundreds of concerts he has performed in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., he has also made several TV appearances including “The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno,” “Conan O’Brien,” abroad on the “BBC” and on “CBS This Morning.”
Mr. C is looking forward to seeing – and hearing – the young eager musicians in the THS band grow individually as musicians as they also learn to perform together.
